Tony Goldwyn is a new district attorney in the cast.

The date of Goldwyn’s arrival on Law & Order is still unknown, but the last episode starring Waterston will premiere on February 22.

He joined the show in 1994 during its fifth season, working primarily as the executive assistant to the district attorney. After season 17, he was promoted to assistant district attorney, and in season 20, he was appointed a D.A.

In addition, since L&O’s revival in 2022, Waterston has made appearances in every episode. He has also made guest appearances on two Trial by Jury episodes and four Special Victims Unit episodes.

Although Goldwyn has acted in major motion pictures like Ghost, Tarzan, Divergent, and Oppenheimer, he is most recognized for his role as President Fitzgerald Grant III on the seven seasons of Scandal in the 2010s. Ezra, his feature film directing debut, will be available on May 31.

In the sixth and seventh seasons of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Goldwyn made an appearance on four episodes.

However, it’s safe to assume that Goldwyn won’t be playing Frank again when he joins L&O because the character was killed off in his last episode of the show.

The 23rd season of Law & Order premiered on January 18. Thursdays at 8 p.m. the show airs.
