This year’s Super Bowl will feature a competition between two quarterbacks from the National Football League playoffs for the Lombardi Trophy.
Winning the Super Bowl would also mean a pay boost for a lot of quarterbacks.
On February 11, the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and the San Francisco 49ers’ Brock Purdy will face off in the Super Bowl.
NFL quarterbacks and their teams have been competing for the most prestigious award in the sport, which is a victory in the Super Bowl, over the course of the past few weeks.
A Super Bowl ring would not be the only reward for a championship victory for many quarterbacks who are participating in the playoffs.
This is due to the fact that many players in the National Football League (NFL) have contract incentives, also known as bonuses, in addition to their guaranteed salaries. These bonuses give them the opportunity to increase their pay if they achieve certain markers throughout the course of the season.
Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers still have a chance to take home this financial prize.
Patrick Mahomes
A restructured contract was reached between Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in September. The new agreement stipulates that Mahomes will receive an annual salary of nearly $53 million on average.
If Kansas City is victorious in the Super Bowl, Mahomes will receive an additional $1.25 million, provided that he completes at least fifty percent of the offensive snaps during the game.
Brock Purdy
An agreement was reached between Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers in 2022 regarding a four-year contract that 49ers will pay him an annual salary of approximately $934,000 on average .
In the event that San Francisco is victorious in the Super Bowl, Purdy will receive an additional 164,000 dollars.
