Jennifer Lopez cancels tour dates and said she is “devastated” after cancelling the US tour dates.
On Friday, ticketing company Live Nation announced that her 2024 summer tour has been cancelled, stating that the singer is “taking a leave of absence to spend time with her children, family, and close friends”.
Addressing her fans via her On the Jello newsletter, Jennifer Lopez wrote: “I am absolutely heartbroken and disappointed to let you down.”
In a statement, Live Nation guaranteed that fans would receive an automatic refund.
The tour follows Jennifer Lopez’s ninth studio album, This Is Me… Now, which was released 20 years after her hit album, This Is Me… Then. It is the singer’s first album in five years.
The two-month North American tour was scheduled to begin in Orlando on June 26 and end in Houston at the end of August.
To her fans, Lopez said, “If I didn’t feel like it was absolutely necessary, I wouldn’t do it.I promise I will make it up to you, and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time.”
The news of Lopez’s tour cancellation comes amid ongoing rumors regarding her marital status with actor Ben Affleck. Rumors of low ticket sales for the concert series have also surfaced.
During a press conference for her upcoming science fiction film Atlas last week, Lopez brushed off a question about rumors that her marriage was having issues.
When the celebrity was asked if she and Affleck were considering getting a divorce, she said, “You know better than that,” during a Q&A session.
At Affleck’s daughter Violet’s graduation ceremony earlier this week, the couple was last spotted together. Their marriage began in July of 2022.
